I grew up in a town where Everyone knew Everyone, and there wasn’t much to do for fun unless it caused trouble. There was football, but seeing as I had no insurance, diving head first into very large people with no protective gear didn’t always work out so hot. Enter my free time activity of choice; video-games: The start of my digital frontier.

I later became interested in how the machines I played my games on worked, so that I might learn enough of them to one day create my own games. I began diving into whatever computer I could get a hold of. At the age of 9, I purchased an old 386 MS-DOS 5.5 driven PC with the 50 dollars I had saved from birthdays and holidays. It broke within the first week. I learned to disassemble and rebuild the computer myself and fixed it after a couple of days. At the age of 13 I started building my own computers and became the local “go to guy” for computer solutions.

For a while I did house to house PC repair with a company called “S&R Computers”. However, PC repair quickly became very bland to me, and being an artist already, I enrolled in the closest digital art school available; Madison Media Institute (MMI).

When I first decided to attend MMI my goals were geared towards 3d Animation, however, while in school my interests branched and changed direction. My specialties are now Final Cut Studio, Photoshop, and Illustrator. I found I was very fast as a video editor, and I found the principles of video editing to be almost identical to still image editing - but on a larger scale. With both video and graphic design, I love that I can view a finished or near-finished result when my work is done (being the one of the last steps in the process of development), this adds a great deal of satisfaction in the work I do. Still-image creation/editing is my strongest medium, as I’ve had a considerably larger amount of experience there (grew up drawing and using Photoshop, as well as having worked for a year doing magazine ads and direct mail art for Lenan Corp).
